REVELATION: rev·e·la·tionˌrevəˈlāSH(ə)noun: revelation; plural noun: revelation

- the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world.
When I was thinking about starting a blog about natural hair, I was trying to think of the best name to choose to represent the definition of “natural hair“. I went to the dictionary to see what I wanted to express. But there was no definition. We think about natural hair and an image of an Afro come to mind. Natural hair is so much more. It’s become a movement. There’s festivals dedicated to natural hair, there are heated debates when it comes to natural hair and the most proudest moment for me is seeing more representation of natural hair on mainstream TV.
Hair textures are now classified under types with subcategories (A,B,C). We have wavy, curly, kinky, coily, and many more. I want to represent the past, present and future of what natural hair has become. We went through so many hair “trends” and I believe being and becoming “natural” is here to stay for good. I even noticed the decline of hair relaxer commercials and more featuring how to maintain your natural curl. I was a repeat offender of relaxing my hair until it became brittle and burned from the constant processing. I’m proud to say that I’ve stopped relaxing my hair for seven years now and been living a healthy and natural hair life. I made the best choice in my life.
My definition of Hair Revelation is taking what was given to us from birth and maintaining a healthy, a confident and bringing the future of hair to a new level.
